What do you think the best way to advertise a site is?
Advertising on sites like hf? Stickies etc?
Banner ads on other big forums?

I think purchasing a HackForums sticky helps. Even though there's a chance it will not make your forum active, but at least people know about it then.

Remember to target the audience that your forum niche is set on, tho.

Post a lot of unique and high quality content.
Advertising on other forums like HF.
Don't create 100 categories and forums, target on one niche.

I'll give you an example of how SevenForums got huge (Windows 7 discussion board). The admin literally just started posting tutorials every day. Top quality shit and lots of it. Soon enough, the site grew into a massive database of Windows 7 related tutorials and people ended up coming. And staying. They got there because of the brilliant, unique, quality content, and they stayed because it's one of the most comfortable and pretty boards around.

I like this one. I think we should also do that, I think we should make guides, tutorial, reviews, etc. often. Also an HF sticky helps. Diverse Box had a great activity when Wonders first purchased the sticky, but unfortunately he sold it.
