Couldn’t someone just use the service and reverse engineer it?

I understand your question well and I am not sure why people are giving you a sarcastic response.
Its a mixture of testing themselves and purchasing methods from elsewhere. The person who sells the methods gain the knowledge from testing themselves or from an insider at a particular company who can provide valuable company "weak points".

Refund service rarely use some private unknown method. They just use the usual methods everyone knows but people who are unsure or scared about doing it themselves pay someone else to do it.

Yes... But those methods are already known by everyone so there's no need to buy the service to get the method. They don't do anything special, they just use public methods.

You can find everything on this forum. Most of the methods that they use are old as this forum. Yeah, there are insiders and private groups, but I doubt that you will get into them.
