Literally got an ssd empty box from Amazon - ruonis55 - 04-30-2023

Hey, so I wanted to share my bad experience about how I got only an SSD box without nvme SSD in it. I was kind of surprised because everyone says that Amazon.de checks the sealed box returns and etc. Or can it be that the worker of Amazon warehouse could have done it? I am adding photos of how the stickers should have looked and how I got it.
How it should have looked:

And how I got it:

The production date of SSD is 2023 03 16, so it's not that long ago. I am not even talking about how incompetent that person was when he put the sticker in the wrong spot.

I didn't lose anything, because I claimed that I received an empty box and got a refund, before even noticing that there is no SSD in the box. But it was just a waste of time, ordering and not getting the thing you expect to get. But I wonder is this was one of the returns or it was done by an Amazon worker? If it was one that somebody returned, then how they check them...

You tried to EB Amazon but they EB'ed you. What are the odds of that! I don't know much about how Amazon.de sealed box returns work, but I wouldn't think too much of it as one-off mistakes are quite common when you overwork people as hard as Amazon does. I've had similar experiences before as well though

I recently ordered 3x same SSD's to check if the odds are against me or not. so we will see if it's a one time mistake or if one of them also could be empty. As far as I asked my friends, they didn't have anything similar, so you are right that it could be just a one time experience. But still, it shows how the workers are incompetent, even if it was returned and they just put it back, they could have see that something is wrong before dispatching it, but they don't care.

That's "returns", not purchases.

As far as this thing is rare to happen, then it's okay. But if I get another one after some time, then it would be a bit annoying.

They made you file a police report? If no, how aged was your account?

That said, I'm sorry to hear about this.

No, I didn't need to file a police report. I just said that I got an empty box and they just gave me a refund without any questions Biggrin it would be funny if I need to. The SSD price was like 113 eur. The account was recently created just for this buy.

It's very rare for It to happen multiple times, so there's no real cause for concern.

Read about a guy on reddit who claimed to have received an empty box in a similar way.
Could be a genuine mistake or a returned sealed box that wasn't checked or was in the warehouse before they impletemented stricter return processes.
