[Release] Spotify Recorder - Thr - 09-18-2013

Spotify Recorder v1.8
[Image: hTS8Aw6.png]

I used to use a client called SpotyDL. It was pretty good, but the creator was sued for downloading files DIRECTLY from Spotify's servers. His service was shut down, and he was forced to remove that feature.
I decided I was going to make a similar program, but one that actually worked, and was a good alternative to SpotyDL.

The way this recorder works is by recording the output of Spotify while you are playing music. The single song recording feature only records one song at a time, while the batch record records your entire playlist that you have in order.
Spotify Recorder supports ID3 tags and adds album art/title/artist/album name to the outputted MP3 files. You are also able to choose the output quality of the song, up to 3000Kbit/s (Spotify only supports 320Kbit/s maximum, but when recording WAV output, you can go up to 3000Kbit/s quality).
This is unpatched, and I don't think Spotify is smart enough to make a type of encryption that decrypts music right before it goes to the soundcard by using a driver, and even then, that would be a lot of work. This will always work for any Spotify version, and is a lot easier than getting a decompiled client.

TL;DR: SpotyDL no longer works, so I made this client which records playing music from Spotify instead of downloading files. YES, this client works.

As of v1.5 - I have included an ID3 tag method that saves the title, artist, album, and even album art from the song to your MP3 outputted file.
