Apparently there is a method where you can get Bose to give you an advanced replacement instead of having to box it does anyone know?

Maybe a serial number method? find a serial number and claim it is broken and claim on the warranty (obviously needs to be a newish item and within the warranty period). SE the requests like providing a POP (proof of purchase) etc.
