Pin Warning About BTC Bitcoin Scam in SE Section - ffeffffefff - 03-29-2023
Threads keep popping up sharing a scam "method" to steal your bitcoin, promising to get you free giftcards. Scammers are using multiple accounts to make it look vouched. I think it would be good to pin a thread warning about this method to reduce the amount of people who fall for it before mods can remove the threads.

I support this suggestion.
The same scammer has been creating threads almost every day for the last couple of months at the least. We as staff, obviously cannot monitor this board 24/7, hence a pinned thread will provide a heads-up to members In our absence.

I agree with @mothered. And I can't find a reason to be against your suggestion.
As long as the thread is short, and pinned where these scams are most common, I think it would be effective.

For now yes, I agree with this suggestions.
However, it's clear that it's not the efficient way to deter this scammer.
If there was a plugin for MyBB that check the title and if it matches or contains some "keywords" that the title this scammer always use (and others may use in the future) then the thread is pending approval and not yet visible until a mod accept its publication, it would be better.
But of course it's not a simple solution to implement.

If there was more staff available that would probably be a better alternative. Or as @Green314 suggested, use a filter to trigger this scammed post.

I'm happy to make a sticky across a couple sections, but I don't think the posts have been limited to SE/MonetizIng.

There is and we use it. However, due to the nature of the titles/posts it's not necessarily advisable to filter based on keywords like "$100/day" or "G2A". These keywords are easily changed and they can always promise something else that's too good to be true.
