ALIEXPRESS REFUND $3K - ovocrew - 03-18-2023
Hey guys. Sorry for the clickbaity title hahaha
I just purchased a sony camera lens from aliexpress worth $3400. I have high hopes for this SE. I paid with paypal on checkout too - and when the parcel arrives I'm planning on disputing in the aliexpress platform first for damaged item, and on paypal aswell for faulty item. I have found photos online of similar damaged lenses, to provide as evidence. Due to aliexpresses reputation i hope paypal handles this nicely - but if not im prepared to do a chargeback with my bank. Any tips here? @mothered have you ever done/ considered aliexpress as an SE?

Why not do a DNA? It seems like they could ask for the broken lens back or something, and further complicate your SE.

Faulty item might be a good approach if the item contains glass.
I also hope that you bought it from a company acc and not some individual.

Lens weight is 600 grams.
Bought from a company not an individual, they have stores in China.
Was considering DNA aswell. Not sure if tracking etc will be provided, and have no idea if they’re going to require signature for this item (but usually AliExpress items don’t require signature and are left in a safe place)
Another thing that may help is that this parcel will arrive a month later. Not sure if this helps my case for DNA.

I have long experience with AE, don't DNA them via AE Dispute page, you'll waste your time, as soon as the tracking shows Delivered, they'll stick with it no matter what. Doing Faulty otem method on AE via dispute will also 99999% wont work, as they ask you to return it. Dont even think about AE dispute, might be bwtter with payPal.

I see. Any methods you’ve seen that particularly have good success rates @ justoutslder? I might just have to suss PayPal or go through with a bank chargeback. Not sure how else to go about this. Wrong item received sounds like it might work? Any input is appreciated

Not sure if they’re liable for lost shipments, but I doubt it. Being fulfilled by AliExpress and as @justoutslder put it they’re adamant about that sorta stuff.
How do you suggest I go about boxing them? Or any other methods that come to mind?
