Bank refund suspicion ? - Alz007 - 03-06-2023

Hello,
I was wondering, can my bank monitor and intervene / report me to the police if they see an unusual number of refunds? Is it even legal for them to monitor this type of activity? Isnt it a violation of privacy?
Thank you in advance for your help

Banks will almost never intervene or report you to the cops over refunds since your bank doesn't know the reason for the refunds. The only way your bank would get involved is if the company you're refunding contacts the cops and if an police investigation happens they can then send a request to your bank for info to aid in their investigation.

So pretty much your bank doesnt care about your refunds since on their end they are legit transactions. That said obviously use common sense and dont refund thousands of dollars a month back to back just to avoid any red flags that may arise.

Action may be taken If It's an extreme volume of returns that demonstrate Irregular/suspicious patterns of transactions.

Not at all.

You're using their service, so they have every right to check and make sure their policies are not violated.

stop scaring people Mr "AI" for the love of god on which did we ever hear/read on the forum that bank's shutdown account's for too much return's unless on rare occasions where an actual type of law enforcement gets involved either from retailer or company side even by that it's so unlikely event ! i remember years ago where a dude was caught filling his own returns with dirt to the point he made nearly 200000$ in mexico as i remember and all they did to him was a release at a bail with one month in prison then he started his own company with rest of money he made .

Have you seen evidence of this? How recently and just how many refunds are people being banned for ?
