Amazon Missing Item Suspicion - Quitelargegenitalman - 03-02-2023

Attempting a missing item SE from amazon. 2 items total. I item is a electronic device, other is bluetooth earbuds.
google pixel to be exact,
After contacting chat next day i am being hardlined with police report. I know a police report can be standard operation but they are being adamant about it. One of the reps mentioned their investigation determined this cannot go further without report etc.

This makes me think they have the weights on file and it doesn't match up, but the earbuds wont weigh enough to tell a difference.
Or it could be them really cracking down on SE and making police reports mandatory,

But the way they mentioned it seemed confrontational, "send us the report information within the operating hours of the police station" "we look forward to working with the police"

earbud SEs should be pretty straightforward idk im done with amazon SE theyre customer service is shit now
and this is a clean account with amazon prime, no refunds, like 3 years old with some purchases on it.

I will try a phone call first and just get the report if that doesn't work. I just want to be sure they have no "evidence" to go off of.

For sure, I forget how stingy they have become. I thought there would be some first time leniency on a clean account but its straight to the 5-0 apparently.

Unless their prediction game has become so tight that they clocked you the day you created that 3 year old account. Who knows.

There is no way they have proof of weight discrepancy,

The only thing I can think of now is there was another SE done on this address almost a year ago,

I should have probably used another address,

I contacted them claiming i could not get a report and they are being very rude and closed the chat on me.

I think the account is flagged,

Not sure whether to proceed with police report or abandon.

The account is in another persons name so this could complicate that.

I think the account is flagged because there was 1 SE done at the same address with another account. These accounts are all legit though and belong to different people.

I also contacted chat from another location using VPN, the computer is linked to my amazon account but I dont think they can detect this.

It was the way they handled the situation when I mentioned the missing item that threw me off. They act normal at first, then say they are going to look into it, and as soon as they check the file or whatever they act like dicks and have 0 leniency or ability to refund without police report. I don't know what info they are getting or have that is causing this, they usually are much nicer on a clean account with prime membership.

Unless this is a new policy thing or the item price is over some limit.

I will try to get the police report, hopefully I can do it all online.

If your account has been flagged, you'd know about It through an OFM email.

Just remember that you're dealing with representatives who struggle to spell their own name.

Amazon has become one of the worst customer service entity In the eCommerce sector.
