Can a SE’d laptop (macbook) be tracked? - Jojomojo - 02-10-2023
For example,
Let’s say you order a MacBook directly from Apple. It’s delivered and you begin the SE process to report it DNA.
While you’re in the process of going through the claim, can you use the laptop without Apple being notified it’s on/connected to the internet?
I understand you CANNOT link it to your Apple ID, but can you still use normally (internet, etc) without your claim being fucked? can you update the software safely?
Im currently in this situation now and what I’m afraid of is apple somehow being able to determine that it’s connected to my home wifi or something along those lines before I’m able to successfully complete the DNA claim.

Unfortunately through Apple as I didn’t know there was more success with this method w Amazon

Well sure that’s a good point but these processes can take a long time sometimes if I’m not mistaken? Just asking if anyone has had any experience or has any knowledge w this situation

For your own safety, do not ever use an item that you're currently SE'ing.
Why would you risk a fail when you can just wait for few days?
