What do you think about death? - Eclipse - 08-24-2013 Hey, So I want to ask everyone, what do they feel about death. When I think of death, I feel an emptiness deep within myself. Like I haven't fulfilled my life's purpose. I fear death. Not knowing what will happen years down the line. Fearing the outcome of my life according to religion... So what you you feel? /discuss RE: What do you think about death? - Nil - 08-24-2013 Eh, I don't think about death often. There's no point in even wasting my energy pondering about it as it's inevitable and unpredictable. Do I want to die? Never. Do I fear it? No, but that doesn't mean I actively pursue it. I won't fear something in which I cannot escape. Avoidance does not equal fear. Although the way in which I'm speaking is that you're not avoiding death because you're afraid, but more-so because you value life to a higher degree than to just throw it all to waste. Hmm, I hope I'm making somewhat sense. It's been a while since I've read/thought about this. RE: What do you think about death? - Eclipse - 08-24-2013 Yeah you're making sense. I suppose we should live life to the max wile we can. But I still feel that emptiness when thinking deeply about it. RE: What do you think about death? - Nil - 08-24-2013 Welp, I just wrote a long ass, inspiring, pouring my heart out post. And it disappeared after the annoying cloudflare protection thing. Very pissed right now. I can't even duplicate my thoughts because I was articulating my thoughts in a way that I can't do twice. I might be back later and try again. Until then, FUCK! RE: What do you think about death? - Nil - 08-24-2013 Just attempted to recreate my golden post, and I am unable to do so. I just don't have the same emotions running through me and thoughts aren't flowing like they were. I felt like fucking Aristotle after I wrote it and I was very excited to share it on this thread. lol I gracefully explained the difference between fear and avoidance, and I cannot remember a damn thing on how I did it. I blame Blue for this. That post would have changed the world. RE: What do you think about death? - Guardian - 08-25-2013 When it happens, it happens. There isn't much I can do about it except live my life a certain way. There is an inherent risk of death in anything you do. Its a natural part of life. RE: What do you think about death? - Evangelist - 08-25-2013 It's as fast as closing and opening your eyes. Brutal and cold truth, and it is also our freedom. Why fear the inevitable? I don't believe in heaven and hell so I welcome death when it comes knocking. It is my best friend and liberator. |
