DNA method not possible in my country? - BlnDr - 12-20-2022

Hi, I am new to SE (a couple years ago SEd Razer without even knowing what SE was) and only found this forum a couple days ago.

I'm from Portugal and my problem is that in my country all the packages are delivered by hand (at least in my region) . The deliveryman drives to our house, rings the bell and waits for us to come outside to hand deliver the package to us (if we are not home they simply don't deliver and either reschedule or drop it in closest official establishment). Most the time we have to sign on their mini tablets saying that we received the package and if the package is damaged we must not accept it, receiving a refund.

For example, the other day I tried to SE nike in 110€ but I could not use DNA, EB, etc... (simple methods).

Most of the SE sucessful cases I see around here are DNA but it is impossible in my country. So am I just bad at SEing or should I just take the L and don't even try. (There is surely a method that works but it has to be a lower success rate and more time consuming one wich I don't have the capacities to perform).

DNA is possible in your country, even if you sign for a package it doesn't mean that you've personally received it. Just don't use your real signature when you sign for a package, and if the delivery driver wants to take a photo of the package ensure that you're not in the photo.

Sometimes they ask for our citizen number (poorly translated?), that I can't overcome. On the other hand, other times they just ask "*Insert my name* is it you?* wich I respond "yes" and then in tracking site appears as "Delivered to *insert my name*" wich are enough evidences that I received the package. Also, if I fake my signature and say someone else took it, it can pretty easily backfire on me since I know everyone in my street (small country and I live relatively far from big city).

Basically what I am saying is that using DNA is much easier in places where packages can be left in your door with no human interaction like how it is in USA, for example.

Also if someone from Portugal, Spain or other country wich system is similar, has some tips on how to successfully use DNA method it would be very much appreciated!

When contacting the retailer you intend to SE, you don’t explicitly state that your package has been stolen you just say that it hasn’t arrived.

There’s nothing stopping you from doing DNA other than your fear of it being unsuccessful. I’ve had goods delivered that have been photographed and signed for that I’ve claimed haven’t arrived and I’ve successfully received refunds.

So basically you are telling me I should just risk it even if I think it will pretty much fail.

And then what usually happens? The store we are trying to SE contacts the distributor company? They start a investigation? Contact the authority? Or they simply assume the error with no questions asked?

I don't want someone knocking on my door later.

Given It's fake and not associated to yourself In any way, shape, or form, It cannot be used to verify the shipment was personally delivered to the correct recipient.

So for it to not be associated with me I should give other adress not my home?


Also that I got your atention I would just like to know the success rate of the method wich you replace a expensive item for a cheaper one and claim it was their error? Specifically for clothes, for example nike, tommy hilfiger, carhartt, etc... I would just buy a expensive item and then replace it for some cheaper t-shirts that would match the weight. Is it possible and what are the details I should care about when doing this? Thank you in advance
