If you SE only for profit you suck. - PYA - 12-17-2022

You're an embarrassment to the art, and lack any form of creativity. Prove me wrong.

Spoiler:
Appeal to ego, you felt challenged didn't you, or you probably laughed. But it certainly elicited a response. Don't bullshit me.

If you got this far, tell me where you got serious about SE, and how you've developed your own methods. :p

Be It a refund or replacement, the fact Is, a profit Is Inevitably received.

Both the above commodities, Is the objective of social engineering In the capacity of company manipulation and exploitation. Though I do agree that It's not performed purely for profit - for myself anyway.

I totally agree.

I think this scene should have some form of its own ethics, like we are modern day Robin Hoods, stealing from the rich and giving to.... ourselves. xD But in such a way that we nibble bits off big corporations that have been ripping us off our whole lives till the point when we joined the SE scene in order to get a little revenge while taking good care of ourselves and getting ourselves some nice things we otherwise might not be able to afford. Most of us are probably underpaid and under-appreciated by the companies we work for, and are just seen as 'consumers' by the corporate big-wigs who would gladly sell us down the river and fuck us over in however many ways they could to bleed every drop of profit out of us to add to their billions. Just like I don't respect people who do not work to earn a living, I don't respect people who SE things they don't actually want or need just to resell, especially when they do it without tact and make it more difficult for other people to get things for themselves without losing capital as a result.

My two cents.

^ Very well said.

My two cents.
This is exactly how I feel about it. I obviously do not touch small businesses and only like to hurt the big guys like Jeff bezos whom is a known breacher of human rights.

The corrupt capitalistic system that we live in is to blame, as long as you don't hit small businesses and only fuck over the billionaires

I agree that there is a lot more to SE'ng than just getting refunds, but...se'ng is like any other skill, and I see nothing wrong with using said skill to earn some cash. With that said I don't agree with people going overboard to the point where they make it harder for other fellow se'rs.

I believe it is possible to be skilled, creative, ethical and profitable all at the same time in this space. Here's how:
  • Picking your targets ethically by sticking to the big companies
  • Develop your own methods or tweak existing ones
  • Do not abuse any one method or company over and over, diversify
  • Don't get greedy
I am not claiming to be some expert social engineer but I am claiming to understand how to operate in this space in an ethical and creative way; the profitability will come later for me.

Do you not respect artists who get paid for their work ? They have developed a skillset that they deserve to be paid for if they can find a way to do it, I see no difference for social engineers assuming they adhere to the aforementioned tenets.

Remember... Ethics before antics.
