Correct.

The EB/missing Item method has a very high success rate with Apple AirPods.

I was thinking either Amazon or apple directly. Leaning more towards amazon as they have a larger return window incase the SE goes sideways.

Located in USA and have the ability to fill out a PR online if needed

I did this not long ago, 1-2 weeks ago if I'm correct. All I did was call them up, took 3 minutes on the phone explaining how it was empty and not tampered with, they said they'd escalate it. 1 hour later they sent out a replacement which I have returned for a full refund. Did you do apple or amazon? Apple only has a 14 day return window incase the SE fails, Amazon has a return window until Jan 31.
