Hi, Amazon has asked me to return a GPU I ordered but I said the item inside was wrong.
Does it matter what I put in the box?

It does, Amazon will check the contents of the box to verify that you have received the wrong item.

You should've familiarized yourself with the wrong Item received method prior to claiming an Incorrect Item was received. Also, It's Amazon's policy to dispose of the wrong Item If they deem It wasn't the product they dispatched - which Is why It's paramount to formulate & execute the method accordingly.
