Help me decide how to proceed with my SE (UPDATE: succesful!) - Selmavw - 12-04-2022

Hi all!
Last week I did a order on ASOS (3items) and I am planning to PEB one very lightweight item.
After I made the order it came to my knowledge that they have CCTV cameras installed, so there are some options left and don't exactly know which one to go along with.

1. Try PEB anyway and probably fail and being flagged.
2. Try PEB method but say the box of the item itself was there but no item inside.
3. Say the item is damaged and Photoshop some damage. Then hope they think it's damaged so bad that I don't need to return it.
4. Accept this is not worth it and just return the item and not risk unnecessary PRs, flagged accounts and time waste.

I'd love to know what you guys think is the best option right now.

^ A prime example of why you must always research your target prior to hitting the SE.

What's the Item description and weight?

I've SE'd ASOS using DNA, is it not an option for you?

As a total beginner I thought I did enough research but now I know that was not nearly enough and have learned from this experience already.
The item is a ring so the total weight with the package included is around 20/30 grams I guess.
That does not incluse the second and third item that are in the same deliverybox, those are around 750 grams.

The delivery is brought to a servicepoint where an ID is required.
Since I was first planning to do the PEB method, I thought that would not be a problem at all.

You're now aware of what should be done with SEs under similar circumstances.

That's the gross weight.

The ring will be a lot lighter, hence It's perfect to EB It. Is the ring visible externally without opening the box/case?

Just got the package and the ring was not visible externally, but it was sealed in a super simple to piece of cardboard (almost like one of those McDonalds fries boxes).
So they still might have packed it in there with the CCTV's.
Should I still try PEB you tink?

To the best of my knowledge, unlike Louis Vuitton, ASOS doesn't check goods at the time of packing.

If It's still the case, the "EB" (not PEB) Is good to go.

I just had a live chat with one of the agents. I acted super nice and got the item refunded in ten minutes with no questions asked.
Thanks so much for your responses and blog posts of course. This marks my first succesful SE in my SE carreer Cool
If you want me to send the transcript of the conversation, you're more than welcome to ask.

This will certainly boost your confidence with future SEs.

Thank you, but It's not needed.
