iPhone 14 pro SE after turned on - daqrinsa - 11-29-2022
Hey fellow hackers,
is there any (maybe proven) way to successfully perform an SE of an iPhone 14 pro after turning it on?
Framing it differently: What is the worst thing that can happen? Is it a blocked IMEI or is it something crazy like tracing the phones location and suing me or something?

Depends on what you've claimed. As usual, NEVER turn on any electronics when mid-SE! Wait until you've got your money back.
From now on, you need to wait as you can't really do anything. They might check if the phone is on et. or they wont.
Which method did you choose?

When i refunded my Iphone 13 pro max, I turned it on and put in sim card before getting bread back. everything turned out fine ( so far)

Always use the device after the funds have cleared Into your account.

Thank you all for your support and questions.
Up until now I did just perform a purchase through MediaMarkt.de, no specific SE. I bought the phone out of FOMO regarding long shipping times and shortage. Then realized it‘s fcking expensive and now wondering what to do.
Thinking about complaining and claiming a defect. Pretending that it doesn‘t turn on again. Then sending everything back except the phone itself. And leaving it turned off for a week or so.
Thoughts?

Exactly. The phone weighs 206 grams. I can look for extra paper or packaging material to make up some of the weight.
Also: Do you think it makes a difference whether I turn on „Find my phone“ now or after my claim?
I thought it might trigger something when I turn it on later, after my claim or refund.

I will probably order dry ice tomorrow on amazon.
When dry ice is in the package, will nobody notice it? I always experienced and observed it as being something you can't miss to notice. I imagine the box or parcel looking like a smoke grenade...
I just put it in there and that's it?
