Target airpods EB having trouble - mammta21 - 11-29-2022

Hello everyone, and @mothered in particular (you're the expert with Target Smile ), I am having some issues with Target airpods SE. So I ordered online and paid with paypal but picked up in store. Than I claimed EB online but so far I am receiving all discordant answers from the agents. I have tried live chats, calls and email. The email said that according to them the item was successfully delivered (while it was in store pick up lol) and so cannot be refunded. Most of the agents in the chat (including the higher team after escalation) said that cannot be refunded and that I should eventually contact apple. Like am I just being unlucky? Because I've heard that Target was pretty easy but their agents seems to be super dumb to me and cannot address the issue properly. Anyway during the last chat the agent told me that her manager will call me in the next 2 days, anything I should say/do to the manager in order to succeed the SE? Thanks for you help! Also, if still won't be refunded, I was thinking of just remove the seal without breaking them and box them with a normal return in store, would that be possible? And because it was paid with paypal will they refund me via paypal? thanks

Just to let you know, how Target is treating you has nothing to do with how you are going about your se. It has everything to do with how they have been getting hit so hard that it actually made the news a couple weeks ago! (about half a billion in losses due to theft) So because of that...the store is starting to tighten up when it comes to claims and stuff. But..if you keep pushing them to the absolute limit your se has a very good chance to succeed. Hope this gives you a little confidence boost!

Tell them to provide conclusive evidence that the goods were enclosed In the box at the exact time It was handed to you when purchased.

I can assure you they cannot fulfil the request.

A load of nonsense.

You've purchased from Target, hence they're obligated to handle your claim. They're just trying to wipe their hands clean and pass you onto the manufacturer/retailer.

You paid with PayPal, claim SNAD, mail back empty box and win dispute.

Yeah I thought of opening PayPal dispute but that would be as last resort. Wouldn't like to waste it for 200$. Will try harder first and eventually like I said if they keep denying it what do you think would be best to do? Go in store and return the empty box with the seals still intact and pretend like nothing ever happened? Or go there with open box, broken seals and tell them that the airpods we're missing? I am saying this because I was able to open the box without braking the seals and can easily put it back in place. @mothered

I have just had another call with a manager and the only thing they said is that they, as Target.com, cannot do anything as the order was picked up in store and not shipped. So they told me to go back in store and report the EB. Now it really comes down to couple of options, either go there with empty box and tell them about it(even if 3 days already passed since pickup), or seal the empty box and return it(eventually can I do it to another Target as well?), or paypal. Otherwise will just be a failed SE. And also, not sure if I am just panicking, but If I seal the box or even just claim it was empty while in store, will they be suspicious or check the box as they've been eventually informed by the online team? @mothered what would you suggest? Also if I seal the empty box, should I leave the charging cable inside to give it a little more weight? And be less suspicious during return?

^ Do exactly that.

If the In-store employee suggests otherwise, tell them that you were told to claim It as such.

@mothered got it, so should I break the seals? Cause i opened it without breaking them and also should I completely empty the box or just leave the manual? Or also the cable? Thanks

It doesn't matter.

Many people are pedantic with how they open their goods. It doesn't Imply anything.

Leave everything there except the AirPods and charging case.

Can you advise on your exact method for opening the airpods box without breaking the seals ? i didnt think this was possible, i thought the seals had to be broken then removed completely and replaced with ones bought online.
