Twist on traditional methods (dell, hp,lenovo) - Ninjavanish123 - 11-27-2022 So I was looking back at the methods used for claiming warrenty on laptops like faulty item could be the battery it caught fire and such and they must of heard it a thousand times already these companies however these methods are all past tense. Why not try these in the present. For example let's go with the laptop caught on fire why don't we try that but it actually caught on fire while doing troubleshooting with the tech on the phone. Get panicked that you got to grab it literally make it sound like you are throwing the laptop outside because it's on fire. Hell set off your smoke alarm while on the phone to them aswell. If the purpose of SE is to make them think it's a legit claim. I'm going to believe that it's happening if all that's in the background rather then someone ringing up saying my laptop was on fire yesterday. Opinions? RE: Twist on traditional methods (dell, hp,lenovo) - Ordnael92 - 11-29-2022 Many SEers claim an item caught fire "in the past" because they also wish to say they tossed it away for health and safety concerns. If they were to claim it's catching on fire right during the call, many companies would tell you to keep the item and ship it back to them. RE: Twist on traditional methods (dell, hp,lenovo) - Jwilsa - 11-29-2022 This sounds funny as hell, who knows if it would actually increase odds though. Maybe they will play back recording? RE: Twist on traditional methods (dell, hp,lenovo) - Ninjavanish123 - 11-29-2022 The point is if a product has caught fire even companies know that you wouldn't keep it in the house because of health and safety and you couldn't send it anyways due to the risk of battery leak. But atheist the rep was listening in while it happened if you get what I mean. If It's done In real time and disposed of, they'll tell you to Immediately retrieve It. For instance, I've had a Dyson rep tell me "instead of tossing the motor away, you should've put it outside and wait for our courier to come and pick it up".
