Can't speak for every carrier service, but In general terms, the driver may get questioned about the delivery.

I heard that, at least in my Europe country, they may be required to PAY for the lost item.
Which is kinda crazy. If a 1400 euros Iphone gets lost in transit, are they required to pay that whole amount? That's literally a full month's pay here.

There are literally thousands of claims per day for nonreceipt of goods.

If each and every driver had to pay or In the worst-case scenario, lose his/her job, there wouldn't be a single driver on the road.

Not positive but I think FedEx drivers bonus is tied to how many complaints and missing orders they have in a month.
I have somewhat solid proof because during my peak I ordered a grill that was over 100 pounds from where else? Wayfair and I watched as 2 FedEx guys dumped it right out the door of the truck on a wet cold morning around 7:30am 25 feet away from my door at the end of the driveway. It was scheduled to be delivered the day before and I've never gotten a delivery before 10am with FedEx ever. So I researched it and I think that's what it said about their bonuses that I fucked up.

UPS I don't think so. The main delivery guy I've been friendly with for about a year now and I did a ton of DNA's when he delivered it. He picks up most of my fucked with Amazon Returns too and we are aways joking around.

I feel like when a signature is required and they just drop it on your porch, they likely won’t come back to give you shit.
But say you signed for it and claimed it wasn’t you? They’ll likely come by
