DNA a 3000$ macbook from amazon - cr0ssf1re - 10-14-2022 Hi guys. I ordered a 2021 macbook pro (~3000$) from amazon US. I wanted to se it, using DNA (i did not pick up the package when it arrived, so its not my signature, im staying at a resort and the packages are left at the front desk always/usually) and amazon customers told me to contact the police and fill a pr. The closest police station is in another city at ~ 30mins with the car (i cant fill a police report online). Something bad can happen? Like the police will investigate the case seriously because of the amount $? Or they will just give me a pr to fill it and thats it? Thank u guys and sorry for my english. 😁 RE: DNA a 3000$ macbook from amazon - Exodeen - 10-14-2022 is there someone who picks up the packages at the reception? did someone give you the package by hand? are there cameras in the building? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I would avoid filing a police report we need more details, did you get the Mac back? How ? Whose signature is it? etc. all police departments are different, if you live in a ghost town (which seems to be the case since you have to drive 30 mins to get to a police station), there is a greater chance that the police will lean on the case, if you live in a city like Paris or New York, the police don't have time for that (unless there is concrete evidence for an investigation) RE: DNA a 3000$ macbook from amazon - mothered - 10-14-2022 Quote:(i did not pick up the package when it arrived, so its not my signaturePrior to moving forward with the SE, who actually signed the delivery? Probably somebody from reception pick up the package when arrived(signed it too), after that, after 5 hours i pick it up from there, and yes, there is a camera. Its a small town, yes. RE: DNA a 3000$ macbook from amazon - cr0ssf1re - 10-14-2022 I called the police station to ask about the procces and how long it takes, what they can do, and he said “ i have to come to meet you and to tell me what happened, what item did u bought, whats the price, but thats the only thing that we can do for you”. So they will not investigate. But because its a small town/village im thinking maybe the UPS driver knows good the persons from front desk and maybe he will come here, and ask everybody them about the package. What do u think? If the clerk at the front desk signed using his authentic signature, then the investigation will lead to him. And, once questioned, he'll tell the police he handed the parcel to you. Moreover, you said there's a camera in the area. So what, wanna try and dispute the fact of him handing you the parcel, making him a thief? Really? I don't think so. Rather than being repetitive, @Ordnael92 has explained It perfectly just above.
