HP refund advice - lunchy - 10-12-2022 Anyone have experience refunding with HP? any tips would be nice. Wanting to do a Reverb G2 (350$) without using DNA method, and haven't seen much about their policies. Any info on them would be greatly appreciated before I go into this. Have refunded once before, not on HP, using DNA. Are they gonna be cunts? RE: HP refund advice - mothered - 10-12-2022 Why are you specifically targeting HP, and also refuse to use the DNA? I don't want to DNA because I did once before, on an order from amazon/tacklewarehouse for about $1k. Filed a police report and everything went smoothly. I want to use this method again on a larger order (gpu) but only once again because my police department is tiny and they would catch on real fast if I keep going in and filing reports. My town is like 15k ppl (US). Also, I see my mailman everyday (usps) so I am trying to in general get things from UPS/FedEx. But I am confident in getting a gpu from a DNA, regardless of carrier. I chose HP because they are/have been doing sales on this headset for awhile now, and there are rumors they are leaving the VR scene and they are just trying to reduce stock. Whether this is true, I don't know, but it probably is. There are also a ton of open box deals, with some just being the seal slashed. With that being the case, and the item being $350, I figured it might be prone to a different attack. This is where I wanted advice on what approach to take. The item would be in medium sized box, and weighs quite a bit which is could be an issue if I said items were missing (i.e the box only had "1 controller" in it or something). Or possibly there is just another store it would be easier to do from despite, I have not seen much about HP on here. The other alternative would be doing a DNA from the same store on the headset and gpu together which might work. Another alternative would be buying the gpu on something like best buy and then doing sealed box in person (would they open it there?) and then doing dna on headset. Just wondering what your opinions are and what the best ways to do physically large items are (macbooks, speakers, vr, gpu's, etc.) RE: HP refund advice - mothered - 10-13-2022 (10-12-2022, 06:29 PM)lunchy Wrote: There are also a ton of open box deals, with some just being the seal slashed. Amazon does It with their Warehouse Deals - a vigorous 20-point Inspection Is done with every open box product. Just don't do It with Amazon or Apple. Name the Item and we'll work from there. RE: HP refund advice - lunchy - 10-13-2022 [/quote] Are the open box deals Inspected by a quality control team prior to selling? They sold a v1 model, it was bad, and then they made a v2 model, nobody bought it, and now it is always on sale and I think they are just trying to push old stock out, which could be beneficial. Box would be completely sealed and brand new. Still don't know how I want to do this one. Want to just say it was missing headset and controllers but if they weight check it wouldn't work, right? Also don't know if CCTV's in warehouse would have caught that, or if they even have them. Also, if they ever found out and invoiced/questioned me, I could just deny every knowing about it and be cool right? All using real credentials or fake would be better? Never done sealed before. |
