Wayfair UK - "Your Order Has Been Cancelled" - thecableguy - 09-27-2022 I placed an order with Wayfair UK. Usually the process goes - place the order, wait for delivery, go online and state the item is broken and they issue a refund. This time my order has been cancelled on the same day it was placed. Shall I try again under different credentials or has the system flagged me? Quote:Your Order Has Been Cancelled RE: Wayfair UK - "Your Order Has Been Cancelled" - mothered - 09-27-2022 Quote:has the system flagged me?No. Their automated systems have detected a potential security Issue with the purchase, hence the order was cancelled to prevent an unauthorized transaction. Don't attempt to place another order - I can assure you the same thing will happen. Contact Wayfair and ask them to explain why the above event took place. It can, for example, be as simple as a mismatch of credentials between your online account and payment method. RE: Wayfair UK - "Your Order Has Been Cancelled" - thecableguy - 09-27-2022 Great. I'll try that. It could be the email not matching my PayPal email? Other than that I'm not sure what detail could have triggered this. I'll update with their response later RE: Wayfair UK - "Your Order Has Been Cancelled" - mothered - 09-27-2022 (09-27-2022, 10:39 AM)thecableguy Wrote: It could be the email not matching my PayPal email? It may well be a mismatch of credentials, or a false positive detection - which happens quite often. Your money has been put on a pre-auth (pre-authorization), which Is basically a temporary hold. They haven't taken It out of your account, but rather the funds are not available to you until they release the hold. RE: Wayfair UK - "Your Order Has Been Cancelled" - thecableguy - 09-29-2022 I phoned up, they were appologetic and said he'd forward it to the security team and would get a response the same day. I did indeed reply citing 'ongoing security concerns'. I got on to live chat and asked what that meant. They said that due to having to many issues with their products it is probably best I use a bricks and mortar store. In other words - fu, you're costing us too much in inventory. Meh. Was good while it lasted. I still have options of using family names and addresses, but then need to come up with elaborate reasons for delivering stuff to them. RE: Wayfair UK - "Your Order Has Been Cancelled" - WLT17 - 09-29-2022 Can you confirm if this method still works, and any limits etc? Will be extremely useful if it does. Thanks. A "security concern" could be a thousand possibilities. RE: Wayfair UK - "Your Order Has Been Cancelled" - 8y5tui4o - 08-12-2023 The same thing happened to me. I called customer service twice and the first time they said it's because of billing address is not exactly the same as the shipping address. Changed my billing address and the second time they said they have detected multiple accounts linked to me. I was surprised because I used a different address (same apartment building but different Apt#) and device and VCC. Not sure what makes them link the accounts. |
