Apple chargeback or Section 75? - BitPlayer - 09-17-2022

I’ve got an Apple Watch EB claim that’s been dragging on since late June. They’ve asked for a PR but rejected the incident number as not sufficient (even though the police won’t issue a report as they believe no crime has been issued). I’ve seemingly reached a stalemate after many phone calls, countless emails and letters. As I purchased using my credit card, I’m considering either a chargeback or a Section 75 claim again the credit card provider. What experience has anyone had with such claims involving Apple? Thanks.

I’d appreciate any advice on this 👍

^ Did you explain this, and asked them to directly contact the police to verify they're unable to provide the report?

Yes, many times. They kept referring to they fact that it was Apple’s policy to require a full policy report (hard copy, stamped). But declined to provide a copy of the report. I’ve written to them, using the Resolver site, 8 times now. They are definitely ignoring me 🤯

In that case, a Section 75 claim should certainly work In your favour, for the fact that the police cannot legally provide a report for non-theft related Incidents - regardless of Apple's policy.

Thankfully your Item Is over £100, otherwise a Section 75 cannot be done.

I’ve had the same problem with Apple on EB S7 watch, I’m at a dead end getting nowhere now with Apple.

My case was recommended for refund but then the PR was rejected.

They have had a Genuine Police report but rejected it because the Apple order number wasn’t on it, I had this added and sent it again and it was again rejected but they refuse to tell me why!?

1 Agent believes it is because it is not “Stamped” though UKP tell me they do not provide stamped reports anymore, in fact I’ve even forwarded apple the Email from the police which states the following “I can confirm that the Police do not issue “stamped” reports, and Apple appear to be using this as an excuse – the report you received is accompanied by our official letter, so this should suffice.”

However Apple still will not accept the report and refuse to engage in conversation as to why they will not accept it, Frankly I’ve never dealt with such an inept and useless team of people.

I have now given up hope of a resolution with Apple directly.

Yes, similar scenario for me. Hence I’m going to pursue Chargeback or Section 75 claim. I’ll probably go with the latter as it’s a claim against my credit card company, and therefore it’ll hopefully avoid more ‘computer says no’ responses from Apple.

Is a PayPal dispute/claim not an option for you?

Would they not just take apple’s side with an Apple Watch eb? I’ve never done a dispute with PayPal what would I say
