Ideas for an app? - Harvey - 08-03-2013
How are we all?
For one of my courses at uni, my group has to design and prototype an app for the App Store/Google Play. We can really do anything we want, but was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

An app like Summly that gathers news from different sources and lets the user categorize what types of news they want to receive and how often?

Well maybe a tower defense game would be cool, also something like Dragonfly game.

The Anidex (Animal-Dex)
An app that has information about animals that you see on the road!
Eventhough it would be a bitch to gather all the information, it would be pretty informative for people without internet connection.
Kids are very enthusiastic about animal books! I know 6 year olds might not be able to read very well, but I remember that just looking at pictures of the animals, was really cool and exciting! I remember going to bed and just picking up a book full of dinosaurs and reptiles and other animals! I loved it! I still read animal books, but with a bit more text.

An app where you can scan products ( say a tin of beans at tesco ), & it show's you the price + prices of other supermarkets such as Asda and Morrison's, you can also scan like games and it checks the price at say Asda, Game and other such shops.
I know id kill to have an app like that, purely because I'm cheap & like to buy things as cheap as possible

Yeah, that idea is pretty good. I think you go with that one.

you can't get prices of other supermarkets (atleast not in the nehterlands) so the app would most likely not support that feature.

If you want an app with animals, and you must be able to use it when you dont have internet connection, it would be HUGE. Because you have the images and text of 1000+ animals in it.
and when you have new information you have to update the app, so if it grabs the information from the internet it would be better.
