CPU -> Wrong item - Thearde - 08-26-2022

My amz account is in good shape in my opinion (Prime, multiple orders in 2022 for a total of € 500, one legitimate return for a low value item). I plan to use a partially wrong item received method to succeed with the SE - is there anything worth paying attention to with this method? I have already ordered an item from another (fresh) account with a weight similar to the one posted on the AMZ website of the processor that I plan to SE. I know that both items (wrong and CPU) are from the same warehouse (same delivery date). The only reason I am a bit shaky of my plan is because it would be the biggest SE I have ever done, so I just want to make sure I don't screw it up at first.
Also, is it worth trying double dipping it (claiming that replacement had no cpu inside its box)?

Did you also use a different address?

Can the CPU be viewed externally without opening the box?

Parcel collection point was chosen, different (unlinkable) credentials will be required to obtain the package (will be handled by my friend).

No, the CPU is enclosed in this weird plastic silicon wafer imitation.

In that case, the EB/missing Item method can be used.

What's Its precise weight?

I think it is safe to say that CPU with its plastic tray weighs just below 100g, and packaging would be somewhere about 170g, totaling 270g stated on products' page.

The packaging Is Irrelevant - you'd be purely claiming the CPU Itself was missing.

I agree. Weight of the CPU itself is the reason I came up with EB as a way to double dip it.
For the time being I am awaiting delivery of my CPU and will see how wrong item method will work out. I opted for this method because I would like to keep the packaging for resale and if the SE ends up smoothly I will be tempted to EB it to get the product for myself.

Well planned.

I look forward to read Its progress.

RE: CPU -> Wrong item - Thearde - 08-29-2022

Update time:
It seems that I avoided picking up the package in person by doing grocery shopping, so the householder picked up the package. Surprisingly, despite receiving an e-mail with the OTP code, it was not required when collecting the package. The courier also did not require the recipient's signature. Under these circumstances, I am tempted to change my approach to the DNA method. I didn't mention it earlier, with CPU also came one approx. 20EUR item, so with DNA obviously that item also will be replaced as I aim for double dip.

I'm just not sure if this is really the method I should go for as in no universe the wrong item will trigger PR, unfortunately DNA can. I believe DNA might help achieving double dip, since I can use the wrong item method while receiving replacement for this shipment. Any suggestions? @mothered

Oh and also would it cripple my chances hitting DNA in the future on other region of AMZ?

RE: CPU -> Wrong item - Thearde - 08-30-2022

Update again:
I went with the DNA. Unfortunately, I should have taken the threat of filing a police report seriously and that is unfortunately out of option in my area (career-chasing police officers that really have nothing better to do around here where I reside).

I think I will just bite the bullet and return the main item and inform them that the package finally was found.

Will this experience affect future SE attempts on same region and other regions of amz' operation? I think I'll try again after my account will age more and also using the method I planned to use since the beginning.

Also as a side note to novice SErs like me, I see it as a valuable lesson that you got to stick to your plan, and execute what you had actually planned, not something that you came up with while the SE is in process (and IMO it is since the moment you place your order).
