Is OTP an amazon exclusive thing? - GOATEDGOD6969 - 07-10-2022

I've never seen OTP from amazon or from any online order.
I was just wondering about that.

My buddy is a Delivery Driver For Amazon currently and happened to find out that amazon OTP is just something they use for "High risk" Customers, People with high refund/return rates. So you probably won't see it anywhere else.

I 'm a regular customer with an aged account (more than 5 years) lots of purchases and no refunds, I just got a OTP purchasing airpods pro, never used that account for SE or that address, personal details etc. so I don't think its only for high risk customers, i believe is on high risk items like small electronics with mid/high value.

But do other companies have an OTP system in place?
Like if you order a high risk item from Apple, will apple send an OTP along with the fedex man or is that just an amazon thing?

The term "One-Time Password" for delivery verification, Is dedicated and used by Amazon.

Other companies may (for example) require an access code to confirm receipt of goods.

Yeah It depends a lot on the company, country, item. Either way, if you are trying to SE a big company, refunds are most of the time, if not always easy to do, so you can try to purchase an item and analyze if a SE is possible, if not, just do a legit refund and that's it.
