Why is nobody doing this? - GOATEDGOD6969 - 07-08-2022 Instead of digging up a s/n and pics on the internet why doesn't anybody just buy the item in cash from the store, start a warranty claim with the manufacturer, take all the pics/video you need with the item (no need to photoshop) then just keep SEing the manufacturer and do a normal return with the item to the physical store? What am I missing? Can they detect the items are back at the store somehow? This would be very good for companies that don't want the item back and just send a replacement with PoP, S/N, and some pics or video. It's a valid method providing you have the cash. Most companies do usually ask for the item back though, and if you have multiple attempts on the go at once it can require an expensive outlay. Sometimes they may ask you to just return the item to the store if it's within a certain time.oeriod of purchase as well. IE if you buy a switch a week ago and claim its not working, Curry's for example will replace it. RE: Why is nobody doing this? - Nabeshin - 07-08-2022 Mostly cause people doing the S/N method don't want to fork out the cash first RE: Why is nobody doing this? - mothered - 07-08-2022 Quote:why doesn't anybody just buy the item in cash from the store, start a warranty claim with the manufacturer, take all the pics/video you need with the item (no need to photoshop) then just keep SEing the manufacturer and do a normal return with the item to the physical store?Been using this approach for years. You can also use It for POD purposes, Instead of Photoshopping Images. Destroy It as Instructed by the manufacturer, take photos, put the broken product back In the box, and use the sealed box method when returning It to the store for a refund. RE: Why is nobody doing this? - BiggusDiggus - 07-08-2022 Which companies usually just send out the replacement instead of wanting the "broken" one back? Is there a list somewhere? You can definitely do that. As @Nabeshin said, it's mostly because people don't want to shell out cash, and ultimately once you know what you're doing it doesn't take more time to look for a SN, create an invoice and photoshop pictures. I understand, so how would one approach this, if I dont know in advance if they are goong to ask to return? So far it seems to me your reply to me is also a good answer to the main question of this thread. "Why is nobody dojng this?" You need to understand, that there Isn't a single company that does not require the product be returned with each and every claim. RE: Why is nobody doing this? - gihemav3 - 07-09-2022 What particular items do you guys go for when using the S/N method? Now obviously the possibilities are endless, but what about you guys in particular? I almost only ever refund the same item from any company I can because it's an easy resell, but I'm open to more products. |
