Which method for Sony A7 IV? - gatescrusher - 06-28-2022

Hello, I bought the Sony A7 IV camera through Amazon. Was delivered to a packing station. I thought I do LIT but after I read how error-prone this method is and that Amazon likes to require a police report for this, I got scared. Now the camera is here and do not know what method I could now take. Can you help me?

Are you referring to an Amazon locker/pickup location?

From memory, I believe It has a small rectangular clear seal which can be removed rather easily without causing damage.

If so, the sealed box method can be used. Alternatively, the wrong Item received Is suitable.

Yes exactly, I mean a pickup location.

The camera weighs about 660 grams. If I use the sealed box method, what item should I replace the camera with? Will the return be checked even though it is sealed? I guess the return reason will be secondary, right? If so, I might use "not liked".

Wrongly received item method also seems to be a good alternative. Do I then best say I received a wrong camera and return this "seemingly" wrong camera? Again, I have to consider the weight, right?

I will decide on a method and report here how it went. By the way, it is amazon de

Why not dry ice? The product is light

Anything of equal weight, or close to It.

It's Impossible to say for sure.

Given you're using the sealed box method and returning It without opening the box, It doesn't justify why you didn't like It - you wouldn't have purchased It to begin with.

Bought by mistake or better price available, Is less likely to have the return checked.

The wrong Item can be any stock Item of theirs, preferably something from the same category as the camera.

Correct.

That makes sense. Thx. Then I will give one of the two return reasons mentioned.

I have now weighed the whole package of the article alone with my kitchen scales. It is 1363g. As I read, there may be a maximum deviation of 80g (wrong item received method).

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any product that corresponds to this weight, which I could exchange for the Wrong Item Received method. If it is the same category, then it would be photography. A lens or another camera. Just I can't predict how much the item will weigh including the item packaging.

With the sealed box method, I am having trouble getting the seal off. There is a white strip on the item.

The variance In weight Is minimal, so It's fine.

Try using a hair dryer and a thin blade.

If need be, take an entire day. It can be done.

Wow sounds like hard work but somehow I feel like doing this. Do I need to use gloves? What alternative item could I put in?

Give It a shot.

You've got nothing to lose.

It can be done with or without gloves.

Anything of equal weight, or very close to It.

I like your mindset. What makes you so sure you have "nothing to lose"? In my head there are horror scenarios like police investigations etc..

I will try it with gloves on.

So I could take a big stone that has the same weight?
