PayPal Damage Report - Grimmz - 06-22-2022 Hey, First post here so I'll keep it simple, in the middle of a PayPal Claim, they have asked for the following "To continue with our investigation, we need documentation supporting your claim the item is damaged or significantly not as described. You need to get a document (such as an estimate or invoice) from an unbiased third-party, such as a dealer, repair shop, appraiser, or another individual or organisation that is qualified in the area of the item in question (other than you). This document should detail the extent of the damage or clearly explain how the item received significantly differs from the item advertised. No repairs or alterations should be made to the item, as doing so will limit our ability to successfully resolve your case and may result in the cancellation of your dispute. Any documents you provide may also be supplied to the seller." I provided them with something I had made with a local repair companies details along with correct contact information (not my idea but a quick google would have revealed the number anyway) Just wondering how best to proceed? It seems they aren't just taking me at my word and are going to contact the "third party repair shop" should I just create a fake document and put a burner number on it? They obviously won't find any company details via Google but I don't know if that will hurt more if they can't verify something? Hey, It was via a phone call they said to me "We were unable to verify the repairs / quote submitted with the company" I then asked him if he wanted new contact details or another quote and he advised it may be best to get a new quote from another repair shop. Sorry I swear you said what was their exact response, the the timeline is this: They asked for a document, I provided a local repair quote, they responded by denying the claim, I called them and they told me it was due to not being able to verify the quote. So I'm wondering if they are going to verify do I just set one up with a burner phone completely made up so they can't google anything? Or do I go with a legitimate place and ensure they won't discuss my quote with anyone else? RE: PayPal Damage Report - Nabeshin - 06-22-2022 Can't you befriend a repair shop to make an invoice for your desired amount in exchange for a small sum? I considered this, I do have a few potential shops I could reach out to, but I just figured rather than involve someone else could I just do it myself or do you think they would want to verify it? I also assumed a repair shop wouldn't discuss another customers details with someone? I could get a legit repair invoice and just edit it to say they have personally inspected it, but again after the first fail I want to be air tight. As per above, It will be verified, so disregard It. Search for businesses that have recently closed down, and create the damage report against their details. It's legit, but obviously PayPal cannot contact them to verify the report. But then wouldn't it fail due to them not being able to verify the quote, again? What are you supposed to do, ask them to re-open to satisfy PayPal's request?(06-23-2022, 03:14 AM)mothered Wrote: As per above, It will be verified, so disregard It. You've complied with PayPal In every way, hence the claim cannot be declined for noncompliance. It's a very strong case for an appeal. RE: PayPal Damage Report - Grimmz - 06-23-2022 Sounds perfect, I'll give that a go and update after, thanks for the help.
