Just wondering if you are still able to refund the item normally if there is a prolonged investigation for your SE. For instance, if they open an investigation lasting over 30 days and your normal return period passes. If your SE fails, is there no way to return the item for a refund? Thanks!

It might work if you claim the item is broken and you're still covered by the 1-2 years warranty

Many companies disregard the claim's duration for the eligibility of the return.
After all, It's not your fault they've taken an extended period of time to assess the claim.

After the Return window is over, REP from his end CAN still create a return for refund for you on exceptional basis. But I never even TRIED to returned any FAILED SE that too after return window is over by 30days! So i doubt they'll be willing to take your LEGIT RETURN OF AN SE ATTEMPT WHICH FAILED WITH THAT LONG DURATION IN INVESTIGATION also i think the rep leaves a note on your order's case/complaint/request number-id so they will be able to see from their record's & note's the excuse/reason you gave when you made your attempt & progress-notes made on the same. So then they will know for sure that your tried some dodgy claims before!
WORST CASE SCENE: They approve your return request after widow is over, you send them legit return they take it & THEN DENY YOUR REFUND- Be prepared to deal with this too, in case you still want to make the legit return for refund!
