Hello all,

does anyone know a good software that can read PDF's aloud?
With Adobe Acrobat it works, but the voice is terrible and the text is also not reproduced 1:1.

A friend of mine has no Issues with It.

Are you using the latest version of Acrobat? Also, have you tried the software and audio on different devices/microphones?

Everything works. But the voice sounds like a robot.

so far I have not managed to do that. The voices just sound like a robot, which is not really nice if you want to listen to a lot of pages.

I'm not sure if it's a suitable solution, but I personally used Amazon's TTS service (Amazon Polly), it's part of AWS. It's free for up to 5 millions characters. Search for Amazon Polly on your preferred search engine. Only downside, you might need to enter billing details and create an account to get started. You can use its API or enter whatever text.

They do offer two types of TTS synthesis engine: Neutral (Produces the most natural and human-like speech possible) and Standard (Produces natural-sounding speech).

Yes, I have subscribed to Creative Cloud.

Try the Microsoft Edge browser, by clicking the "Read aloud" option located on the toolbar as shown below.
