Would RayBan SE work with prescription glasses? - ryanchiddy - 04-27-2022

I've seen a RayBan method floating around where you order glasses and say only the case arrived (EB), but to get prescription glasses you have to send your eyesight prescription and it takes upwards of 8 days to ship, a much longer process. I was wondering if this EB method would work even in this scenario where it seems like a much more personalised and individual process? With best wishes.

I don’t know whether the prescription component would result in different ‘checks’ with Rayban (as you say, it would be a customised order) but I’ve done the EB method on standard non-prescription glasses and it was very easy.

It's no different to the usual EB/missing Item manufacturer error method but the only concern, Is whether the supplier In question has CCTV cameras In operation.

Yes I wonder. I am aware that it has been possible to do the EB method on RayBan for some time but I don't know if that includes prescription glasses that seem to have more going on behind the scenes. Is there any way to find out whether or not RayBan have CCTV for this sort of operation? A quick google search yielded no results as expected :/

As I've heard, I've ordered the prescription pair already so I'll keep this thread updated, it doesn't seem like this has been done before. Prepared to take the L in the worst case situation. Thanks for your input Smile

Ray-Ban Itself, does not have CCTV cameras.

For your reference, Shade Station (shadestation.uk) has cameras, and they also check their goods at the time of packing orders.

Seldom does Google produce results.

Thanks for that! I can't find anything to suggest that prescription glasses are produced anywhere else so I'll assume that there is no CCTV and continue ahead with the EB method for lack of a better option. Thanks again.

I think you’ll be fine.

Was told today that my glasses would ship from their warehouse in 7-10 days due to a bug in their system preventing them from sorting things out sooner. The fact that they said the glasses would be shipped from their warehouse makes me hopeful that these prescription glasses will be no different from SEing regular glasses from RayBan, fingers crossed!

If the factory that made the prescription had CCTV cameras when packing the glasses , It'd confirm that Ray-Ban received them In full.

But the events that take place within Ray-Ban's warehouse, Is a different story - the case could've been opened and the glasses taken, hence you only received the case.
