Sealed Box Method for a DSLR Camera - BiggusDiggus - 04-11-2022

Hello there,

thanks for having me in this forum! Thanks to @mothered 's blog I entered the world into social Engineering. I have done similar things in the past before for smaller value items ever since I realized how generous the amazon customer service is.

So I was planning to SE a somewhat expensive DSLR Camera between 1000 and 2000€ with the sealed box method.

THe first problem: I dont know if the Box will be sealed at all, I looked at unboxing videos on youtube, some of them have these seal stickers and some dont, I searched for those stickers on AliExpress but could not find them.
Now first question how would I proceed here in either case, is there any way to open the box without breaking the seal? And if there is no seal at all then can I pull this off at all? Because my guess would be that they are going to check the contents in this case?

My second thought was putting a different used / broken but still somewhat new looking camera into the box instead. In first sight someone checking would not notice much difference, only after having second look into it.

And then I had another idea which I want to try maybe with a different shop.
With the sealed Item Method there will almost always someone end up with the wrong item. What if I pretend to be that person? In this case, I receive my ordered item but tell them there was a wrong item in there and the box was sealed when i received it. Who can prove me wrong and will they even try to contest?

Sorry for long text Im a bit of an overthinker, would highly appreciate some advice here!

I actually have thought about this, to SE via being a Sealed Box victim, but i don't know on what level will this work.
Imagine that you say to Amazon that when you opened the box (sealed) it was in there a dummy camera?

What's the exact description of the camera?

Amazon Is difficult to deal with when claiming an Incorrect product was In a factory sealed box.

Unless the rep has no brain cells left and approves It on the spot, expect a lengthy and arduous claims process.
