Nook Tablet - Xeronations - 12-01-2012

Quote:Requirements:
Nook Tablet UNUSED SERIAL;You'll need to search on craigslist for a 100% new and sealed nook and ask the seller for the PID/SN that is located under the barcode of the box.
Time
A brain

Getting started:
After you've got your unused serial number, you're going to head to BN' s support to start a chat:
Spoiler

You'll be shown a new window asking for your information(Name, email, inquiry type, serial number and a brief description of your issue)
Say something like this:
Quote
My family has been a loyal Barnes & Noble costumer since 1952 and we've always followed the tradition of purchasing books from your stores. We find it to be the best bookstore out there, however,I recently acquired one of your Nook Tablets thinking it would meet your normal quality standards, turns it does not.

The Nook worked perfectly the first 2 weeks but it started having this issue where black and white horizontal lines appear all across the screen and won't let me perform any action.I have already tried to reset it and hard reset it with no positive results at all,I hope you can sort out this issue.
DO NOT FUCKING COPY-PASTE WHAT I WROTE YOU LAZY NIGGER.

The representative you'll talk to will say how sorry he/she is about your issue and he'll do his best to help you out!(Lies, they are fucking stupid and stubborn)

You'll get asked for the serial number, make sure it' s an unused one so there's no name or account registered to it.

He'll make you go through several troubleshooting steps, first one should take 20 seconds make sure you take the time correctly so you can state it didn't work. You're probably going to be asked to do a hard reset which could take up to 10 minutes, use a chronometer for this.
One of their most common questions is going to be: "Where did you get the Nook tablet?" To this you shall reply stating that it was a gift,if they decide to go deeper in this question asking the name of the person who bought it make up a story about how you don't know,I usually say I won it at an online raffle and I don't know the name of the person who purchased it.

After all this steps, they are probably going to ask you to call Barnes & Noble directly, say that you have done that twice already and they have sent you to the chat support, they'll also ask you to visit the nearest B&N store to have the nook replaced, simply say that there's not one near you and you can't be bothered to go that far because of a poor quality company(Doesn't matter if it sounds mean, they always respond positively to this).

If they keep sending you to the store or call them via phone, simply ask to talk with a supervisor.
Supervisors will always be more reasonable than the usual representatives.

Once you've gone through all these steps, you probably will be asked to create an account at Barnes and Noble's site with your billing address and your CC details. For this you shall use Fakenamegenerator.com to get fake CC information...
Now that you created the account they'll ask you for the same information on the chat(Phone number, address,CC details etc.)remember that you can always use fake stuff(except for address, email and serial number).

After this they will show you the 2 replacement options:
Standard replacement: you send it in,paying the shipping and upon receiving it,they'll ship the replacement
Advanced replacement: They will send the replacement first, however they'll try to charge you $200 and refund it upon arrival of the defective unit.

You are going to say that you will go for the Advanced replacement, however, you can't be charged $200 and you can't pay any kind of shipping.
They'll get all faggy and will make you pick the standard replacement but you need to keep firm and state that you can't pay any of those.

If you discuss enough with them, they'll end up telling you that they'll ship the Nook tablet first and you'll have 14 days to return it(just ignore that),they'll ask for all the information again and proceed to do the replacement order, you'll receive an email with shipping details and stuff like that.
Once it has been shipped you'll also receive and email with the new serial number of the device you've been sent(Yay you can use this one to SE another one).

Now you want to skip all the discussion with the supervisor you can simply end the chat and start a new one with the same information but now you'll write something like this on the message:
Quote
I have contacted B&N support previously about a Nook Tablet that had issues on screen,we went through many troubleshooting steps and we came to the conclusion that the tablet would need to be repaired.
The previous representative told me that they'll send me the Nook tablet first and that I would be required to send the defective unit within 14 days, however, the chat got disconnected and the replacement wasn't processed.

They will ask your for your address and the email of your barnes and noble account and will most likely process the replacement right away.

Please note that SE'ing B&N is very representative dependable, therefor your chances of being successful can vary according to the representative you're talking to.Women are always more friendly and men tend to be ironic at some point. If this is the case, ask immediately to talk with the supervisor to get the replacement sorted and to state how upset you are about the previous representative.

yuck. they should give them out for free. The kindle beats the nook. I tried the nook @ B&N today and it was laggy as shit. just using the homescreen i scrolled around a little bit and you could see the frames lag a bit. It can't even handle its own OS Sad

RE: Nook Tablet - Xeronations - 12-04-2012

B&N isn't nearly as big as Amazon, so I suppose you can't really expect too much of it. Last I heard, B&N was losing money fast as well.

Yea, that was so sad and the nook is generic only the poor can buy them!

i think book stores are going to go out of business. all everyone does there is just read the books there instead of buying them...then they buy it online or something.
