Warning when selling SE’d electronics - Mobdeep - 03-08-2022 Hello guys, I just wanted to make some of you aware on something. So I recently EB’d an Google Pixel 6 Pro and an Apple Watch, now I did a checkmend on both of these to see what the status of an EB’d item is and it seems that they are both under recipreco Assetwatch, which simply put, is a system created to let police etc… know when you try to sell this item anywhere so its traced back to you. I did some research and it seems all electronics are on the Assetwatch once they are successfully SE’d so I am quite doubtful of selling these electronics. Thanks for reading RE: Warning when selling SE’d electronics - Nabeshin - 03-08-2022 Where'd you SE the P6Pro from? Isn't it a bit too heavy to claim EB? I'm definitely interested in getting one myself RE: Warning when selling SE’d electronics - mothered - 03-08-2022 Thanks for the Info. Irrespective of that, never use your real credentials when Intending to buy & sell goods that're Identified with serials/IMEIs. I planned to sell some of the se'd items until I thought about this exact possibility. What about using the se'd items for personal use. Any issue there? Obviously wouldn't be able to claim warranty or anything along those lines with the se'd item. RE: Warning when selling SE’d electronics - peakyfblinder - 03-09-2022 If you buy the items from a third party seller like amazon, walmart etc. you will still be able to claim warranty. As for selling, just pop up an ad on kijiji or something similar under a different name and a spoof phone number and sell it ! No way that can be traced back to you. No way that can be traced back to you.If It was purchased with real credentials and the Item contains a serial/IMEI, It's attached to the original buyer - records are kept of such details/transactions. As such, If (for example) a warranty claim Is put In by the new buyer, It will not validate and the manufacturer does have the capacity to trace back the Item to whom It originally belonged to. Oh shit, I got lucky then. The 6K TV i mentioned in the other thread had a black screen a few months after using it. Claimed manufacturers warranty and they sent in a technician twice to my house with different parts attempting to fix it - the part replacements didn't work and they reimbursed me the original amount I paid. Had to show them the receipt from the third party I purchased it from. So is there a possibility that Amazon will report the complaint of SEd devices to manufacturers and therefore the guarantee no longer works? If I sell an SEd device, my buyer uses it and takes it to customer service within 1 year of the warranty. Is there a chance that the service center will find out that it is a blacklisted product and thus void the warranty?
