Wayfair Refund - ryanchiddy - 02-23-2022 Hey guys! I'm a noob social engineer and am about to attempt my first proper SE from Wayfair. I ordered something for £240 and it was delivered around 30 minutes ago. The delivery service took a photo of the package outside my house but my door wasn't open (so I'm thinking DNA?). I've heard that this company has cracked down on damaged item claims which is what I was initially going to do. I was just wondering if someone a little more experienced than me had any ideas as to what the best approach to this SE would be? Many thanks! Quote:The delivery service took a photo of the package outside my house but my door wasn't open (so I'm thinking DNA?)Under such circumstances, photographic evidence Is useless. They can take 100 photos, It still doesn't change the fact that the package was left unattended at the doorstep, hence anything could've happened to It - stolen by a passerby Is a prime example. As such, you didn't personally receive It. Quote:I've heard that this company has cracked down on damaged item claims which is what I was initially going to doWhat method do you have In mind? What I ordered was a food dehydrator. And yes I was thinking the same thing as the delivery driver didn't follow protocol and left the package outside; for this reason I was thinking simply to use the DNA method, do you think this has a decent chance of success? I also paid through PayPal so worse comes to worst I just start a dispute? Be sure to remain adamant that you've yet to receive the package. Tracking Is a useless form of verification - It only marks a package delivered to an "address" and not to a "person" (hence you didn't personally receive It), however PayPal doesn't see It as such. Thanks for telling me of all of this, I would have had no idea otherwise. Alright I suppose I won't go down the PayPal dispute route, I'll just insist I haven't received the package. To update, Wayfair has emailed me saying that if they don't find the item by 1st March they'll send a replacement, so I guess I'm also going to have to do some convincing to get that refund. Thank you again for all of your invaluable info, if it wasn't for your contributions on this forum and your blog posts I would have no idea where to even begin .
