First time SEing (Amazon) - Mainour - 12-09-2021

Hello everyone,

I know this has been probably asked many times but I'm a SE newbie and have still some questions.

I have ordered a pair of AirPods Pro and plan on using the EB method to get a refund. However, I'm in doubt that'll work even though it has countless times for other people.

My account is a few years old and I have a good amount of purchases. Not crazy much but definitely in the low hundreds.

Question 1: I have used my home address as my shipping address. Should I have rather used a locker?

Question 2: Does the EB method even still work that easy? What if the chat agent makes problems? Should I just leave the chat and open a new one or maybe even call directly?

Question 3: If somebody has experience with amazon.de, do they ask for a police report? I don't think it is common over here but maybe somebody can let me know about their experience.

Question 4: What if they for some reason investigate and get to the point where they say that they believe everything was correct and I won't get a refund? At that point I can't even return the item as I've told them it wasn't there, right? Is there anything I can do at that point?

In general is there like a complete guide for the EB method that someone can link me to? What exactly do I tell the chat agent? Just that I've received my package and after opening the box the charging case was just missing but the booklet and charging cable was not? Is this something that can actually happen?

Any other suggestions or links to some more resources for beginners are highly appreciated.

Thank you!

You're overthinking the SE.

When you fully familiarize yourself with the method, most of your concerns will be answered.

Okay, so I'll just start a chat as soon as I get it? Also, I can't return the item when they say they won't refund it, right?

Start a chat session a short time after you've received It.

It can still be returned.

Simply say a family member opened the box and took the Item without your knowledge, and you were told about It after you put In the claim.

Okay, so I've received them yesterday but wasn't home all day. I opened a chat session today and the agent told that I'll receive an e-mail as well as an form I need to fill out from a specialist. Is this normal procedure? Would you happen to know what kind of form this would be?

It's not too common for the missing Item/EB method, but It does happen from time to time.

Under the circumstances, I doubt It's an affidavit. Most likely an Internal company document or a stat dec asking to state that everything you've said/provided about your claim, Is true and correct to the best of your knowledge.

So I'll just wait, right? Or should I maybe call?

If you haven't received the email In the next day or two, give them a call.

Also, please post the document (editing personal details) so we can ascertain exactly what It Is.

Okay, so they have now send me a mail which says that they're sorry, that I have not received my order. They dropped off the package in front of my apartment so I could have just DNAed it. Their email sounds like they think I have not received the product at all. They are now investigating which can take up to three days and if I have not received my order until that I'm supposed to let them know. What should I do now as I've actually said in the chat that the box was empty and not that I didn't get it at all.

That's so typical of Amazon.

They fail to differentiate nonreceipt of goods, and receiving the package but not the Item.

It's no fault of your own.

Tell them precisely what you've stated - the Item was missing, and not the package.
