Question Regarding Refurbished Iphones - 6ix - 11-29-2021

So i got an Idea to SE one of those big refurbished iphone sellers / buyers.
You can get a free label to send in your old iphone,
and after they recieve it and checked the phone they would deposit the amount in your bank.

What would be the best method here?
Empty / weighted box? Implying someone took out the phone during transit.

Do you think this will be succesful / do you have any experience with these companies?

Thanks Smile

What's the precise weight of the phone?

I guess it would depend on said company's terms and conditions. Who is liable for the item until they receive it etc. What carrier do they use, does the free postage label include insurance, if so to what value? I think you would have to deal with the courier more so than the company in question but perhaps someone can prove me wrong.

Empty/weighted box is probably the way to go though.

The carrier's responsibility Is to handle shipments, not assess/evaluate claims.

Given It's (obviously) purchased from the company and the claim Is directly made with them, that's who you deal with.

But you're not purchasing anything in this situation. In essence, "you" are the seller no?
Unless I'm misunderstanding the OP's objective. I'm not sure how a company can be liable for something they're not selling.

Yes, it states in their terms and conditions that they are in no way liable for phones lost/damaged in transit to them. So the claim would probably have to go trough the carrier.
They use DHL express exclusively, so i don't know how possible it is. And if it's worth the hassle

In this case, that Is correct. Perhaps I should've clarified my previous post.

I was more so referring to how carriers operate as follows.
Quote:The carrier's responsibility Is to handle shipments, not assess/evaluate claims.

And this Is a general statement pertaining to companies and their carrier partners - when goods are purchased directly through the company Itself.

I haven't fully delved Into their policy, but as per DHL Express' terms, I don't believe you're covered.

Quote:While DHL Express does our very best to handle your shipments carefully, it is important to remember that the responsibility of the packaging lies with the shipper.
