AMD SE Rma Approved, Shipping Question - bayok - 11-07-2021

Alright, how I got here, I applied for an rma, sent them corrupted images a couple times, got the rma approved.

Heres the somewhat tricky park, I now have to ship back the cpu (which I don't have as I done the SN method).
Because of the weight of the cpu(79g), I am thinking of doing an empty padded envolope.
Would it also increase success rates if I attemtped to FTIDv3 the package?

The weight Is light enough to do exactly that.

I may be overthinking, but wouldn't a padded envolope weigh more than 40g?

You're not overthinking the SE at all, but rather preparing It to ensure a successful outcome.

In answer to your question, an average padded envelope Is around 30 grams.

Then that will be perfect.
I assume I can purchase said padded envelopes from a postal office or drop off point?

Yes, post offices have every type of shipping envelopes.

Choose the smallest and lightest one that will accommodate the CPU.

Unfortunately the smallest one was 30cm, but atleast it weighs only 18g.
I am thinking of cutting the side, placing some sort of brown tape over it, and filling some of the package with the same color tape until it weighs envelope weight + cpu weight.
Any thoughts?

Good approach.

Be sure to not overdo It with the external taping, whereby It's not noticeable at the collection point, but enough to show signs of tampering.

I'm thinking of making a 6 or so cm cut along the length of it and then covering that up with scotch tape.

Sounds good.

I always recommend to cut the package/envelope just enough to show that the Item can be removed. For example, there's no purpose making a 10 Inch cut, when the Item Is only 5 Inches.
