First DNA - Pudada - 10-28-2021 I’ve never done a DNA as I don’t really want to get my local postman or delivery guy in trouble as they’re always amazing (I think I must be the only one with a decent Hermes guy) Anyway, something arrive today via RM, was left in my porch as I was out. So I sent an email to the company when I had finished work: Hi, I had an email this morning to say my order has been delivered but I’ve got home from work and there’s no parcel. Royal Mail always leave any deliveries in my porch if I’m out, but if it was a different postman I’m not too sure where he’s left it. Thanks They’ve replied with this: Thank you for your email and apologies for this issue. It looks like the items have gone missing in the time between after being dispatched from our warehouse and when the parcel arrived to your address, which is why we will need to raise an investigation with the courier. All we need from you is a hand written statement, dated and signed by yourself declaring that the order has not reached and a copy of your ID. We are not expecting you to have a scanner, you can simply take a picture of the letter with your phone and email to us This is standard procedure due to the status of the order. We will then open an investigation to find out what is going on. Please then allow 7 working days. Please note that they might use your statement in court if they find the person responsible for this theft. We are really sorry about this whole situation and we hope you will understand that we have to follow the procedure when this kind of situation occurs. We are doing our utmost in order to solve this situation for you. Now, I’m not too bothered about doing all this, but, will it be brought to the attention of my postman, as he’s actually spot on and I don’t want him to get in trouble. Will the investigation reach my local sorting office, or are they likely to just put in a claim with RM on their company account? RE: First DNA - mothered - 10-29-2021 Quote:Will the investigation reach my local sorting office, or are they likely to just put in a claim with RM on their company account? The company will liaise with the carrier to cross-check tracking/GPS records, with the Intention to establish the whereabouts of the package. In this situation, do you know whether they will speak with the post man who actually delivers in my street? And if so, would anything happen to him? I get loads of parcels so it’s unlikely he can remember what has been left etc. but I’d feel terrible involving him. Couldn’t care less about Royal Mail as a company though. What I can say, Is that If he's had a number of reports against him for failed deliveries, there Is a possibility of being formally reprimanded by his employer and In some cases, Issued an official warning. I'm not suggesting It will happen, but rather what "may" take place due to the said circumstances. I've always mentioned to never target anyone on a personal level, but SEing Is a complex art which can lead to events beyond our control and expectations. Thank you for explaining that. I never planned on SEing this one anyway but just thought I could try a DNA but don’t think I wanna risk my postie getting investigated. I refrain from DNA'ing when a frequent driver Is Involved. |
