SE Police Report - bakoosik - 10-26-2021

Hi. This is my first post.
If Amazon want police report, what information should be there to be good for them?
Someone has experience with this?

Get a police report.

I assume you used DNA, so, is your package actually didn't arrive and you were asked for a police report, wouldn't you get one?

There's nothing to be afraid of. They're not going to come to your house to have a look inside lol

Just tell them you got a package stolen and Amazon needs a police report to help you further.

Where I live they don't do reports or anything about stolen packages but have given me bogus reports just to help me out... Now I help them out by just using a copy of the report they gave me and I fill it out myself!

Yes I did DNA. About 2k euro. However, I have another problem. I got a PR from the police and sent it to Amazon, but they said that they could not verify the report, I wrote on time and the assistant told me to go to the police and verify the report because some important data is missing. Unfortunately, they did not say which and which data is incomplete.

If Amazon do not state the requirements, stating the obvious, simply ask them.

The most crucial things that they need to have stated on such PR are:
- order number
- what item is missing
- the price of that item (the amount of your claim)

It's typical of Amazon to request the following details.

- The number of the police report.
- The name & rank of the associated precinct.
- The name & phone number of the police station.
- The crime reference number.

I’m my experience, Amazon call the police to “verify” the PR.

I had this issue of them continuously telling me “we can’t get hold of the police to verify, we have tried calling twice and no one answered”. I had to be very persistent and connect to different reps and constantly ask them why they apparently can’t get through to the police. After many many conversations with different reps, eventually they got through to the police and verified my PR and my refund was processed.

RE: SE Police Report - KoryKANE - 10-27-2021

From my experience it's just a formality and if they suspect you of DNAing it's a measure to make you scared.

If you stick with your story and act the part there's nothing to be afraid of. No cops give two shits about some random guy SEing a billion (trillion?) dollar corporation

Yes, for the most part, they do.

Here's an actual response from Amazon when someone tried to falsify the report.

Quote:We write to tell you that unfortunately we are not able to verify the details of the police report you provided. The document does not have an 'official' police letter head and Is not stamped to show It's an official document. Furthermore, Its associated details do not correspond with our Inquiries, therefore we're not able to provide further assistance In this matter.
