Delivery man wants signature after Refund? - gatescrusher - 09-29-2021

Hello, I have successfully performed the DNA method. I got a chargeback from Amazon. With this SE I did not have to make a signature and it went relatively quickly until the refund...

Now the delivery man came after 2 weeks and put a so-called "declaration of the recipient for delivery of a shipment" in my wife's hand. With the claim that he had delivered it. On the letter you can see an ident code with the shipment data. Further down is a recipient's declaration, where I should tick that I have received or not received the goods. With place, date and signature. On the 2nd page you can see a "strictly confidential" shipment status. Under the item Event status it says: "The shipment was delivered contactless. The signature was made by the delivery person." It also says there that it was delivered to a family member.

The man wants to come back in a few days. I'm supposed to have the note peeked out of the letter box in case I'm not there.

What should I do now? Does it make sense to sign the letter? My feeling is that I should just throw it away and ignore it, since I have already received the refund. Would be grateful if someone here could help me.

Can you please clarify if the refund so far has been successful or if it has failed due to chargeback

Toss It In the trash.

The carrier driver has no right to get Involved with the delivery of your goods, nor are you obligated to attend to his ridiculous request. If he has an Issue with It, he can deal with his employer.

In the letter of the "Recipient's declaration of delivery of a shipment" you can see a company logo of the delivery provider. This makes no difference or?

I wonder if the letter was written by the supplier or by the company. Since I am no longer obligated to respond to it (refund has already taken place), I can just throw it away, right? I just want to make sure that I have understood correctly.

If the delivery man is at my door soon, should I talk to him or just not open the door? If I should talk to him, then I tell him that I didn't receive the goods and he should contact his employer, right? I just hope that the letter is not already from the company.

Don't focus on the letter, disregard It altogether.

The carrier driver has no right to set foot on your private property demanding such a ridiculous request.

If that's the case, they would've sent the letter directly. Why get a carrier pigeon (so to speak) to do their job?

You've purchased the Item from the company, not the driver. If the company decides to Issue It at a later date, that's when you'll deal with It.

You don't need to explain yourself. He's a delivery driver and he's employed to do exactly that - deliver packages, and not Issue documents.

Answer the door, tell him to stop harassing you and leave It at that.

I had a DPD Driver come to my house once after hours off his own accord with all his paperwork about how this item was delivered when I DNA'd the item. I basically just closed the door in his face and said wtf you doing at my house at 10 pm out of work hours... shut the door and left hahah

Haha Akoz. Very funny. Then I try to get rid of the driver as soon as possible. Thank you very much mothered. Your arguments make sense and give me confidence. I then tell him not to bother me if he rings again.

You're most welcome.

All In all, your claim has been finalized with a refund and that's where It ends. Even If It was being assessed pending a decision, the driver still doesn't have the right to get Involved. He's employed to purely deliver packages, and not evaluate claims by way of Issuing documents.
