Apple to se or not to se - bestgio - 09-24-2021

Hi all!

I am also thinking of SEing a new apple product that's coming out today but wondering if I might be in a lost cause already due to my environment

It's getting shipped by UPS and I'm in an apartment where our mailroom has cameras. UPS tends to throw packages in my apartment's own "amazon locker" type storage. Once the package makes it in the locker then a OTP via SMS is sent to me to open up the locker and retrieve my item.

I was initially thinking DNA since it doesn't appear that a signature is required, yet if I do retrieve the item then I must know the OTP, wouldn't that already ruin any chance of SEing? I was also playing around with the idea of EBing it but from the UPS tracking label the item is weighed already

This would be my first SE attempt in this address and my apple account is aged but first apple hardware purchase if that helps..

In the US

Any thoughts?? Cheers

No. Apple directly (basically) dead.
Not worth it these days unless you want a long journey.

Go FTID Amazon or something, should be easy enough.

First and foremost, name the Item you're looking to SE (Inclusive of weight and dimensions) and we'll work from there.

Do note that Apple (at times) offer a "one-time exception", so depending on the Item, It will work to your advantage.

How many SEs have been performed, and what's the date of the last one?

I have been talking in other servers and a lot of them advertise "instant" services for apple directly, makes me wonder if theres some new method out there

It's an iphone, I don't have a ruler with me but its just a standard shipping box? Weight is .40 kgs according to the label

I have not done any SEs at all for this address in general (I just moved recently) and no SEs for that apple account. The apple account is aged so it exists but I never used it to purchase any hardware until today

I hope that's the case, I miss Apple.

I've been out of the scene for a while now but wouldn't surprised, SEers are crazy smart.

I'll advise you to not believe sellers (majority of them being resellers and being fed information) and do some deep research yourself.
Good luck friend.

Thanks for the Info.

I had the missing Item method In mind, however at 400 grams, It's a little too heavy.

Given an OTP will be required on delivery, under the said circumstances, the DNA Is out of the question. The sealed box method Is well-suited, and If the box Is wrapped In clear film, you can use a heat sealer machine from here or here, and also purchase the factory film from this site. As such, It won't be too difficult to replicate the original packing.

Thanks for the suggestions! I would have tried the sealed box method however the phone box isn’t in a plastic wrap this time around, and in order to even open it, you have to rip this paper ish material “lock” that clearly shows the box being opened. Definitely different than previous iPhone boxes

I ended up opening it up anyways but planning to return it legitimately. iOS isn’t really to my liking after playing with it for a few days

Yes, some phones are factory packed with paper-type seals.

It's not Impossible to open & reseal, It just takes more attention to detail.
