In my opinion you could buy it, then claim it caught fire while you were charging it for the first time. For the photoshop, take a picture of the laptop on a table and source it to a photoshop pro on fiverr. It'd probably cost $10.

I like this idea but what if he doesn't have a sister? I would think if he took something off of google images he would be caught
