It's not much, but I am just beginning interface design. Is there anything I could add?

I didn't want to waste time going through and giving each box and individual picture, that would take way too long.

I think he wanted to make it a bit simple, but then he made it TOO simple.

Egh I think you've gone for a simple look, but made it too simple (Like Snarky said).
Also, give it a bit more color.
