I just read the UK is going to send 1,000 more ventilators to India. I'm wondering if our government will allow India to keep the vaccines that are currently due to come to the UK, but are being held for health checks. It would make sense health-wise to allow India to keep those. It would be good business sense too. If India's workforce are out of commission, there won't be enough staff to produce the vaccine for India or the UK, so perhaps that's another solution?

Apart from what's posted on this board, I don't keep up-to-date with happenings around the globe, so excuse my lack of knowledge on the pandemic.

Is there not another country who will produce the vaccine for both India and the UK?

Canada , Nepal is now suffering from conrona now , corno mutation is happening and yet to come to USA now...and many countries... i think UK and india now effected badly , but india suffered more , due to high population , making 1 billion Vaccine in a year is not a easy job , more factory need and more material .

I'd say It's safe to assume that the entire globe will be affected by the new variant(s), probably a lot sooner than later.

Unfortunately, the whole corona spread will take many years to eradicate.

I think you're absolutely right. Most countries haven't entirely closed borders (whether that be for trade or business travel), so all new variants appear to make their way around the globe for the most part.

On the topic of manufacturing: India isn't the only place making those vaccines, but the issue is that those other places are facing similar issues: trade complications/staff shortages/demand too high compared to supply. For new manufacturing locations to be set up there is a lot of safety checks and specialist equipment and staff needed. It's a logistical nightmare to say the least.

I am confident we'll beat the virus and all its variants. My main concern is how long that will take, and how many lives we will lose until that goal is reached.

My country Is guilty of not closing Its borders.

In my state/province, we're declared COVID-free but the question Is, for how long?

You've explained It to perfection, better than most Google searches.

Absolutely nailed It.

As with everything In life, nothing lasts forever but In terms of the virus, It's the serious consequences and ramifications that's of concern until It's finally eliminated for good.

It's difficult to name somewhere whose borders have been completely closed. Not that I don't understand why, but it's effects are obvious.

Thank you! I have been absorbing information from many an evening watching news and reading articles - Haha!

Fingers crossed we beat it sooner rather than later. I'm looking forward to the day India tells us their cases and deaths are going down.
