A needle under the bed is a good trick, simply place it under the bed and provide pictures to hotel staff.

If you see a younger couple / group staying at the hotel near the room you are staying in then try saying they threw a party or kept you up all night with the TV / Music.

I have some Expedia accounts, i used them 2 times to get free nights and it worked without problem

Guys, I would like to know when do you get the free night ? Is it at the same period as your initial reservation or you can take it for an other month ?

It depends whether the hotel will Issue It there and then, or offer It as a voucher (or some variant) to use at a later time.

Depends on where your staying obviously, but i have had some luck with nicer wyndham hotels. You can book 2 or 3 nights, when you get your room key and set your shit down, wait a little while and then go to the front desk and say "The images i saw for the room online included a balcony and that's the only reason i booked a room here. My girlfriend has a respiratory condition and she requires access to fresh air at a moments notice". Youll get a bit of resistance, but then complain about the condition of the room and then tell them you want to cancel the next 2 nights you booked and that you want contact info for management.
Be careful, not all hotels allow for cancelations, and not all hotels are driven by quality customer service. If you try this at a quality inns that has a prostitute operating in their rooms, they dont give a fuck about your scathing review or repeat business.
