Ipad Pro SE (Maybe?) - Bruce_Boy - 03-02-2021 Not sure if this is good post for social engineering but someone sold me a iPad Pro 12.9 256gb model (2020). it just has iCloud lock on it. I checked and it was clean IMEI. So on eBay they offer iCloud unlock services such as they change the name the IMEI is associated with and print/mail a receipt to your mailing address. and supposedly you have to go to Apple store and ask them to remove the ICloud lock by saying you forgot info. They go check the data base for name associated with account and you show them ID and boom they unlock it. Does anyone know about this service on eBay aside from me? If they do offer an unlock service, why would you need to contact Apple to remove It? Hasn't It already been removed via their service? I'm not sure how the iCloud services work I'm not really knowledgeable nor do i think this is only way to do it. If there is any method that you are aware of please do tell me! I'm not aware of any method, but If they claim to offer an unlock service, there shouldn't be any reason to contact Apple to remove It. It's unlocked, so there's nothing to remove. I have this other method I'm interested in since I have some experience with Amazon Warehouse, maybe you've come across such a method. So I drain the battery to 0 first. I then order same iPad from Amazon Warehouse. I simply switch them and return my iCloud locked one. So the workers don't have any way of charging the device and would overlook it since its low battery and they need time to for it charge in order to boot it. Would you think this method would work? I've switched a different VR headset before with this method from a cheaper one to a more expensive one successfully. Since it's coming from warehouse my thoughts again might be that they'll overlook it and see that the item is there and that it isn't broken but just needs a charge (very low red charge blinking icon on screen) RE: Ipad Pro SE (Maybe?) - mothered - 03-03-2021 (03-03-2021, 08:56 AM)Bruce_Boy Wrote:A well thought-out plan.(03-03-2021, 03:03 AM)mothered Wrote:(03-02-2021, 09:55 PM)Bruce_Boy Wrote: They as in the sellers of the service on eBay. Amazon Is Inundated with orders and claims on a daily basis, so this may In fact work due to not having the time to charge and thoroughly check the return. RE: Ipad Pro SE (Maybe?) - SE.UK - 03-03-2021 yeah i would go with the amazon plan. Wouldn't trust these eBay services personally RE: Ipad Pro SE (Maybe?) - Bruce_Boy - 03-03-2021 I'll be trying the Amazon way. It's going to take some time to drain the iPad battery though because I'm stuck on the welcome screen in which I can't make it so that it doesn't lock or dim the display it's very limited right now. It took me 10-15 hours to get it from 100 to 74 so i'll keep on waiting RE: Ipad Pro SE (Maybe?) - mothered - 03-04-2021 (03-03-2021, 10:10 PM)Bruce_Boy Wrote: I'll be trying the Amazon way. RE: Ipad Pro SE (Maybe?) - Bruce_Boy - 03-05-2021 Yeah I'll update it as soon as I can it'll take some time because of the long battery drain part |
