Told to contact courier - sadler223 - 02-16-2021 So I boxed a store with tape (I'd rather not say which, they're a big company but with a relatively small online shop), but they've told me that since the items weren't returned to them they can't do anything and that I should get in contact with the courier I shipped with (Hermes) to make a claim. Is there anything I can do to get around this? I think the compensation value is only £50 for Hermes. RE: Told to contact courier - Brendaddy - 02-16-2021 I would read their limitation of liability and see if they are responsible for lost incoming items. You could dispute through PayPal or your bank. Why do you not want to contact the courier. RE: Told to contact courier - sadler223 - 02-18-2021 I've checked their terms and they say 'we have no liability (whether in negligence or otherwise) for any loss not reasonably foreseeable by us'. I've had a look around at their FAQs and it doesn't mention anything about accepting liability for lost incoming items. My alternative now is to get in touch with the carrier who'll start an investigation (compensation is capped at £50 though). I boxed the company using tape (unbranded), so would this be the best option now? RE: Told to contact courier - Dingoman - 02-18-2021 Well, can't you do a chargeback via your bank? It depends how much you paid for it really. Quote:for any loss not reasonably foreseeable by usWhat's their definition of "not reasonably foreseeable?". This question Is targeted at them and not yourself. And If so, how. |
